Cindy Crawford is and will forever be the timeless It Girl. The definition of the ultimate supermodel isn't only beauty. She is a woman who looks good from any angle you photograph her, a woman who can translate emotions with her gaze, expression and body and most notably she is a woman that men desire and women aspire to be. A supermodel also works. A lot. Cindy Crawford has epitomised all of those attributes defining not only a whole era of pop culture, fashion and beauty but along with her contemporaries introducing the world to the term supermodel. Baby Model
Known for her characteristic mole above her lip, Cindy started modelling in her junior year when local photographer Roger Legel, asked to take her picture for a small local publication. The result was Cindy's first cover. The photo and positive feedback she received were enough to convince her to take up modelling. She then entered the Elite Model Management's Look of the Year contest at 17 and was the runner-up. Elite Model Management in Chicago then started representing her.

Iconic Model
Since then, Cindy has been the cover girl of more than 600 magazines worldwide, such as Vogue, W, People, Harper's Bazaar, ELLE, and Allure. On of her most iconic covers include the July 1988 issue of Playboy where Cindy became the first modern supermodel to pose for the magazine and the 1990 edition of British Vogue magazine where she appeared alongside top models Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista, Tatjana Patitz and Naomi Campbell.

Working Model
From 1989 to 1995, Cindy hosted MTV's House of Style, which was the first show about America's growing fascination with the supermodel. In 1995, Crawford started her film career as the female lead in the movie Fair Game, opposite William Baldwin, but it proved to be a flop. Cindy has also created a line of furniture, incredibly successful workout videos and Is the face of Omega Watches as well as Meaningful Beauty, a product she claims has kept her looking youthful.

Royal Model
Cindy believed that her family had been in the U.S. for generations and that her ancestry is mostly German, English and French. But after appearing in an episode of Who Do You Think You Are? in 2013, she discovered that her ancestors included English nobility and continental royal families of the Middle Ages and that she is descended from Charlemagne!

Mummy Model
On May 29, 1998 Cindy married former model and businessman Rande Gerber. They have two children, son Presley and daughter Kaia. Both children are spitting images of their parents and have taken up the family tradition of modelling. Kaia in particular is already a huge success on Instagram and is pinned to be the next Gigi Hadid. The whole family have recently done a campaign for Omega watches and the photos look amazing!
