LMRA chief meets US Ambassador

Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) Chief Executive Officer Osama Abdulla Al Absi today received US Ambassador Justin Hicks Siberell. He briefed the newly-appointed diplomat on the establishment of the regulatory authority as one of the economic reform projects, stressing its role in organizing tripartite production relations and providing high-quality services. 


The LMRA Chief, also head of the National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking, outlined projects and initiatives to protect expatriate workers’ rights, citing particularly flexi-work permits. The two sides discussed cooperation to combat human trafficking, stressing the importance of benefiting from the US knowhow and expertise through training. The US Ambassador hailed LMRA rules and regulations, stressing the package of facilities which include in particular the e-applications and the efficient management of the expatriates to protect the rights of foreign workers as well employers
