light and graceful

light and graceful Neo-Classicism, which is sometimes called Louis XVI, took its roots from Greek and Roman discoveries in the eighteen century. Furniture designed in the neoclassic style embraced the bold, straight

(rectilinear) lines of the movement as pure, geometric shape and form replaced the sinuous (serpentine) curves of the Rococo period. The style is lush but elegant. The major influence on neoclassical style had the Scottish architect Robert Adam who had reinterpreted the classical concept by adding architectural elements from different cultures to it.
