Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, participated in the High Level Event on Libya which was held on the sidelines of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, in the presence of a number of Presidents, Heads of Governments, and Secretary-General of the United Nations, in order to review the latest developments in Libya and support the United Nations strategy and work plan in this regard.
This event is a part of the efforts exerted by the United Nations to coordinate regional and international efforts to resolve the Libyan crisis and to work in an integrated manner to ensure the implementation of the Libyan political agreement signed in the city of Skhirat, in order to find a peaceful solution that guarantees the independence and unity of Libya, and the elimination of all terrorist organizations, eventually leading to fulfilling the aspirations of the Libyan people.

During the meeting, the Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Ghassan Salamé, delivered a presentation on the latest developments in Libya, adding that the stage of institution building will start soon in Libya with the help of the Arab League, the United Nations and the Libyan parties.
