Seven militants were killed while six others were injured and 11 suspects arrested during a security campaign in the northern Sinai region, said security sources.
According to the Middle East News Agency (MENA), the security sources said that Egyptian forces targeted areas south of Sheikh Zuwaid and Rafah region, usually used as the bases for terrorist acts against the police and the army. The campaign resulted in the discovery and dismantling of the strongholds.
The sources added that the 11 arrested suspects were being interrogated and questioned about their involvement in terrorist acts. (end) asm.te
