The 25th Ordinary Arab Summit opened in Kuwait on Tuesday with the participation of 14 Arab leaders under the slogan “Solidarity for a Better Future”. His Majesty King Abdullah II, who will arrive in Kuwait today from the Hague, will lead Jordan’s delegation to the summit. Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour and the accompanying delegation attended the opening session that focused on the Palestinian issue, the crisis in Syria and on enhancing Arab solidarity through activating the role of the Arab League. The summit is held for the first time in Kuwait in the absence of 8 leaders amid tension due to differences between Qatar and the rest of the Gulf Cooperation Council, GCC countries and Egypt. Syria’s seat at the summit also remained vacant. From: Petra
