An Egyptian soldier was killed and three others were injured during an ambush set by gunmen on the highway between Cairo and Suez governorates, said a source late Friday.
A spokesman for the Egyptian army said that the army convoy, which was on the road, reacted to the ambush and is now in pursuit of the gunmen.
Egyptian in recently witnessed several attacks on security personnel carried out individuals deemed by the state as terrorists.
