United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and Arab League Secretary General Nabil el-Arabi renewed calls to end the bloodshed in Syria.
The two met Sunday in New York for talks on the situation in Syria and Libya, as well as the Middle East peace process, the UN spokesperson said in a press release.
They stressed the need to end the bloodshed in Syria as soon as possible, as well as to address the acute humanitarian needs there, the spokesperson added.
Ban welcomed progress and reaffirmed the importance of strengthening collaboration between the United Nations and the Arab League.
