Security forces on Monday defused an explosive device in New Cairo, spokesman for the Interior Ministry Hani Abdel Latif said.
Abdel Latif told MENA that another bomb went off in a vacant land in Zahraa Maadi neighborhood in southern Cairo, causing no casualties.
He stressed that sappers are combing several areas to make sure there were no other threats.
