Cairo Criminal Court acquitted on Thursday ex-president Hosni Mubarak's sons, Alaa and Gamal, and former prime minister Ahmed Shafiq of charges of embezzling public funds in the case known as pilots association land case.
Shafiq, who was then head of the Pilots' Association for Land Development, was charged with facilitating the sale of 40,000 meters of land owned by the association to Gamal and Alaa Mubarak at a lower than market price.
