Cairo – Akram Ali
An Egyptian army source has denied that authorities have arrested militants believed to be responsible for last week\'s attack on a police convoy in the Sinai peninsula. At least 24 Egyptian policemen were killed in the ambush Monday close to the town of Rafah on the Gaza border.
The source told state television that the armed forces had devised a plan with the civil police to trace the attackers.
Egypt\'s interior minister, Mohammed Ibrahim, had earlier said that authorities were actively pursuing three suspects in the peninsula.
