Egypt\'s military spokesperson Ahmed Mohamed Ali has denied media reports that US warships have been stationed on the Egyptian coast, saying in a press statement released on Friday that the claims were “not based on facts”. Egyptian and international media outlets, including Reuters, reported that the US Navy moved closer to the Egyptian Red Coast on July 11, in case the crisis that has wracked the country since the ouster of former president Morsi on July 3 escalated further.
