Cairo – Akram Ali
Egypt\'s military spokesman Colonel Ahmed Mohammed Ali said on Thursday that the country\'s army has no intention of excluding any political party.
The Egyptian military deposed the country\'s Muslim Brotherhood-led government on July 3 following mass demonstrations. Army-installed Interim President Adly Mansour yesterday warned Brotherhood supporters to end their sit-in protests in Cairo\'s Rabaa al-Adawiya Square and elsewhere, where they are calling for ousted president Mohammed Morsi to be reinstated.
In a televised statement, Ali said: “Our brothers in Rabaa al-Adawiya Square are Egyptians and get the same rights [as everyone else].”
The army spokesman added that Egypt\'s future relies all Egyptians, regardless of their political or religious affiliations.
