Egyptians living in Jordan flocked to the embassy in Amman and consulate in Aqaba to cast their ballots on the second day of the Egyptian presidential elections. Since opening the polling stations at 9 a.m., more than 560 voters have cast their ballots at the embassy with the number expected to double after the Friday prayers, Egypt's Media Adviser to Jordan Ashraf el-Kilany told MENA correspondent. Meanwhile, Consul Mohamed Elewa, over the phone, told MENA correspondent that nearly 250 have voted in the polls today. The total number of Egyptian living legally in Aqaba is 18,500, he said. A total of 2,046 voters have cast their ballots in Jordan on the first election day. The Egyptian presidential elections held for nationals outside Egypt started Thursday to run until Sunday. It will be held for nationals inside Egypt on May 26 and 27. Ex-defence minister Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi and leftist politician Hamdeen Sabahi are the only competitors in the polls. Source: MENA
