Fatah Movement had hailed the election of Jordan as a non-permanent member of the Security Council, Fatah Movement Spokesman Ahmed Assaf told MENA on Sunday. "The election of Jordan will boost the Palestine’s demands inside the United Nations to pave the way for establishing a Palestinian state," Assaf further said. The UN General Assembly has elected Jordan to the Security Council to replace Saudi Arabia, which had rejected the seat in an unprecedented act to protest the council's failure to end the Syrian and Israeli-Palestinian conflicts.
