A blaze of fire that broke out in a military base near the Jordanian city of Irbid on Wednesday has been successfully extinguished. Civilian fight fighters were able to suppress the flames which spread 80 acres across the region through forestry and fields. Spokesman of the general directorate of civil defence, Colonel Fareed Al Shara confirmed that no injuries were sustained from the fire. He congratulated the civilian authorities for their fast response to contain the flames. The fire is thought to have been started accidentally by children.
