The Iraqi army killed on Saturday 53 Daesh militants in rocket attacks in Karama area in western Baghdad.
Five Daesh leaders were among the dead, the Iraqi Defense Ministry said in a statement.
Meantime, the commander of the Brigade 27 was killed during clashes with Daesh militants in western Anbar province.
"Colonel Mohammed Ftaikhan was killed during the clashes with the DAesh terrorists in Baghdadi district of western Anbar," security sources said.
