Security sources within the Israeli army have revealed that a harsh warning has been issued to Gaza-based Palestinian group Hamas against any potential violation of the truce.
According to an Israeli radio station, Israel has threatened to take decisive action against the Islamist movement if Hamas rockets continue to target the southern towns of Israel, and the Gaza factions show a lack of commitment to the truce.
The radio station claimed that Israeli personnel had contacted regional parties to make their stance clear.
In response to Israeli threats, senior Hamas official Yahya Moussa claimed that the movement had heard it all before. \"Israel is used to sending threats and has pre-planned targets in Gaza,\" he explained, adding that \"these threats hold no value.\"
Moussa said that Israel seeks to frighten the Palestinian resistance, but \"we are ready and the resistance affiliates are fearless.\"
The Hamas leader urged all the Palestinian faction to unite and be prepared for any attack that may be committed by Israel against the Palestinian people.
