Elements of Israel's special units attacked Omar al-Kaswany, the director of Al-Aqsa Mosque, on Tuesday and arrested the guard of the mosque, Mohanad Edris.
The Awqaf department said elements of the special units also held Sheikh Azzam al-Khatib al-Tamimi, the director general of Awqaf, as they toured halls of the mosque.
The elements beat Kaswany, Edris and Tamimi.
Only Edris was arrested though.
