A leading general in the Jordanian army is set to be appointed the new Director of General Security, after his predecessor Hussein al-Majali was promoted to Interior Minister last week. Although the government has yet to officially confirm the news, political commentators predict that Major General Tawfiq Tawalbeh is tipped for the position in coming days.
