Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed with his Egyptian counterpart Nabil Fahmy the tense situation in Libya and Syria and Palestinian-Israel ties.
During a phone conversation, Fahmy posted the Russian official on Egypt's assessment of the situation in Libya in light of the armed confrontations in the country, RIA Novosti reported citing a Russian Foreign Ministry statement as saying.
The two ministers also exchanged views on the situation in Syria in light of the presidential elections slated for June 3 and the development of Palestinian-Israeli relations.
