Beirut - Georges Chahine
Kidnappers that abducted a man near Mansourieh, a town east of the Lebanese capital of Beirut, have demanded an estimated $800,000 ransom, security sources told Arabstoday.
Fadi Metri, aged 46, was outside his home on Friday morning when four men snatched him, bundling him into a car and driving away.
Metri’s family reportedly received a phone call on Friday evening, ordering them to secure a ransom for Fadi’s release.
While the figure has not been officially confirmed, rumours are currently circulating which suggest the kidnappers demanded $800,000 for Fadi, who owns a car parts business in the nearby town of Sin el-Fil.
Police in Brummana are launching an investigation into the incident, following eyewitness testimonies regarding the colour of the getaway vehicle.
