Doctors at Safed hospital in Israel declared a state of emergency on Thursday after discovering a number of hand grenades on a wounded soldier.
The patient is thought to be a Syrian opposition fighter. He was rushed to the hospital in a series condition after a group of Syrians approached Israeli soldiers at the border of Quneitra asking for medical aid.
According to the Israeli army, an ambulance was called to the area and transported the wounded man to Safed hospital for treatment.
He was treated by emergency doctors who were shocked to discover live grenades in his pocket. The hospital was immediately evacuated and a bombs unit was called to diffuse the bombs.
The army said that incident was the second since the morning on Thursday. They intend to increase the troops patrolling the border in anticipation of more cases.
