Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed Egypt's appointment of new ambassador to Israel.

"This is an important piece of news. We appreciate it,” he said during a meeting with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius in Jerusalem.

Egypt recalled its ambassador from Israel three years ago in protest against Operation Pillar of Defense against Gaza Strip.

“It’s something that has been, that is deeply welcomed in Israel and I think it’s very good for cementing the peace that exists between Egypt and Israel.”
