US authorities have agreed to deliver more than $112 million worth of equipment and military training to Yemen this year. The move comes after military aid to the Arab state was frozen for the past 12 months, due to an internal crisis. US Defence Department sanctioned $75m worth of gear last month, and another $37.4m worth this month. In documents delivered to Congress, the Pentagon said the latest funding will be used to buy two new twin-engine transport planes, inflatable boats, communications equipment and a variety of guns and ammunition. The $75m will be used for renewed counter-terrorism efforts, including the purchase of small drones, weapons, military construction and training.
