Valentina Matviyenko, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, today visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque (SZGM), in Abu Dhabi, accompanied by Afra Al Basti, member of the Federal National Council.

Yousif Al Obaidly, Director-General of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, took the Russian guest on a tour of the mosque and briefed her about the history, components, and various architectural styles that have been used in its construction.

At the end of the visit, the Russian official was presented with a book titled, "Spaces of Light". The book includes the winning photographs in the photography competition, "Spaces of Light," organised every year by the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre in celebration of the aesthetics and visual greatness of the mosque.
