A Lebanese army soldier and a wanted person were killed during a raid in Bhannine village in Akkar north of the country, the Lebanese Army said Tuesday in a statement.
On Tuesday dawn, an Army patrol raided the place where the fugitive was hiding when he opened fire at the patrol shooting dead one of the soldiers and an exchange of fire took place leading to his death.
The killed fugitive belongs to a terrorist group that set an armed ambush to an army patrol in October, leading to the killing of four servicemen including two officers.
