Tunis - Azhar Jarboui
Two youngsters were arrested on Friday by Tunisian security as they attempted to pass the Libyan border into Syria. The arrests came amidst complaints by local Tunisians following the disappearance of 12 young men allegedly travelling to Syria to join the fight against the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad.
Security authorities have also managed to dissolve a number of networks in Tunisia involved in recruiting hundreds of youngsters to join the Syrian conflict.
Foreign reports have stressed that civil organisations and political authorities are involved in assembling groups of young people to become part of the Syrian opposition in return for money.
