Governor of Khartoum Abdul-Rahman Khedr said on Tuesday that the number of people killed in the recent protests in Sudan ranges between 60 and 70, affirming that investigations are underway to identify those behind the killings.
\"What happened in the protests is planned and intended; police stations, fuel stations and means of transportation were all targeted,\" said Khedr.
After two weeks of demonstrations—in which thousands first took to the streets last month after the government cut fuel subsidies—less than a hundred Sudanese turned out for anti-government protests in the capital Khartoum on Monday.
