The US-led international coalition launched airstrikes on a number of Daesh sites in Mehwar Makhmour area in northwestern Iraq Friday.
Coalition jets targeted Daesh sites while militants were erecting sand barriers, said Kurdish sources.
As many as seven Kurdish families of the Yazidis have been detained by Daesh in Nineveh province since it was controlled by the terrorist group.
As many as 34 Yazidis, meanwhile, managed to escape from Daesh militants to peshmerga sites in northwestern Iraq.
