The wife of one of the Palestinian prisoners held in Roumieh prison in Lebanon attempted to burn herself alive on Tuesday. Haitham Al Izzi’s wife set alight a number of tires before attempting to torch herself in protest after learning her husband was denied parole. The woman, who has not been named, injured her feet during the incident. Izzi reportedly suffers from cancer. His family maintains his innocence.
