Presidential guards tasked with securing the presidential palace in the southern port city of Aden were replaced by southern soldiers, local sources close to the presidency said.
The sources said the replacement was a regular security measure.
Meanwhile, ousted President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi met with leaders of several political parties in Aden on Sunday.
The move was seen as a bid by Hadi to resume presidential duties after leaving the capital of Sanaa.
