The Afghani Ministry of Interior announced on Wednesday the killing of 14 insurgents and the detaining of two others in operations launched by security forces in different parts of the country. The ministry said in a statement issued here today that the national forces clashed with those insurgents in Zazai Eraob of Paktia province and killed 9 of them . The statement added that the national police and army launched a joint operation in Badakhstan province and killed five militants. The statement noted that the security forces, during the operations, confiscated large quantities of heavy and light weapons. Moreover, the police arrested two gunmen and seized with them large quantities of weapons in Kandahar Province.
