As many as two tourists, both women, were killed and four injured in a grenade attack in India's northern most state of Jammu and Kashmir, Saturday, reported the Press Trust of India (PTI). Unidentified assailants hurled the grenade on a tourist vehicle in the state's Anantnag district. According to the report, the attack is being seen as an attempt to target tourists in the state. The attack also assumes significance even as it came on a day when the country's Defence Minister A.K. Antony is in the Kashmir valley to review the security situation there. During his two-day visit to the state beginning today he is expected to interact with troops deployed in the forward locations. Further details of the attack and those behind it are awaited.
