A bomb Attack in southwestern Afghanistan last night injured two US soldiers serving with the US-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), an Afghan policeman and two civilians. Local security sources said that a bomber set off his explosives close to US-led troops and Afghan forces patrolling an area in the Zaranj district of Nimruz province, which is situated about 800 kilometers (496 miles) southwest of the Afghan capital Kabul. A total of 134 foreign troops have died in Afghanistan so far this year. A total of 566 US-led soldiers lost their lives in Afghanistan in 2011. Also Saturday, the British Ministry of Defense announced that a British soldier has been killed in Afghanistan's Helmand Province. The soldier was serving as part of Combined Force Nahr-e-Saraj (North), on a patrol to disrupt insurgents when he was killed as a result of small arms fire, the ministry said. A total of 410 members of UK forces have died since operations in Afghanistan began in October 2001.
