Al Qaeda-related group called Islamic State of Iraq has claimed responsibility for the Monday’s bloody attacks that killed116 people and injured about 300 others. The group said in a statement posted on websites today that it was behind the attacks that took place recently and called them Operation “Demolition of the Walls.” Iraq witnessed a bloody Monday that at least 116 people were killed and more than 300 others wounded in attacks on 19 cities across the country. This wave of attacks is considered the deadliest since the death of 127 people in a similar series of violent acts in December 2009.
