Negotiations between parties to the Syrian crisis resumed here on Tuesday, according to UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura.

Russia Today quoted De Mistura as saying in statements on the sidelines of the meeting that the meetings will continue and everyone is optimistic.

Representatives of the Syrian government and armed opposition factions are expected to probe ways to maintain the truce which began in December 30.
