At least 25 Palestinians were injured by a substance appearing to be tear gas fired by Israel near Beit Hanoun northern Gaza to block Nakba (Palestinian Catastrophe) demonstrations, a Palestinian health official announced Wednesday. According to Palestinian news agency (Maan), 25 people arrived unconscious in Beit Hanoun hospital, after inhaling gas from explosives as having a foul smell and unusual color fired by Israeli forces near the border. An Israeli military spokeswoman has indicated that \"riot dispersal means were placed and later detonated, in an area distant to population centers. The Israeli occupation army had declared a state of emergency on Tuesday on the eve of the 64th anniversary of the Nakba. Occupation increased forces in the West Bank and the Israeli police had announced readiness inside 48\' lands. A widespread strike took over in Arab towns and cities in occupied lands commemorating 1948 on the occasion of the Nakba, in addition to a strike by all institutions and schools as well as the shutdown of commercial outlets.
