The Rohingya Muslims' Public Association's secretary-general Dr. Masi-ul-Din Waqar revealed that at least 3500 Rohingya Muslims have been killed in west Burma over the past two months as part of ethnic cleansing, massacres and oppression by Buddhist gangs and the country's dictatorship, he asserted that Muslim victims were cremated or buried alive after raiding and incinerating their homes This resulted in displacement of tens of thousands of Burmese Muslims and compelled them to seek asylum in Bangladesh. The chief of the Burmese Muslims Association, which is recognized by the Muslim World, told the Saudi Arabic-speaking daily newspaper, OKAZ, that his compatriots have been massacred by Buddhist gangs who killed thousands of Rohingya Muslims and burned down their homes meanwhile the Burmese government committed inhumane barbaric acts and imposed illogical restrictions against Rohingya Muslims in whose district there is no infrastructures, utilities such as water and electricity. Rohingya Muslims get little education which is confined to pre-elementary school stage only and does not extend to intermediate schooling and also their kids are never admitted into regular public schools. The Burmese government imposed further restrictions on the pretext of family planning such as abolition of polygamy or the re-marrying of divorcees and limiting the age to get married at 30 for men and 25 for women. In contrast, Burmese Buddhists enjoy the freedom to get married and to beget an unlimited number of offspring. Waqar praised the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud who had invited for the Extraordinary Islamic Solidarity Conference Summit meeting in Mecca, KSA during which Mr. Waqar will present a paper in order to alleviate the plight of Burmese Muslims.
