UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon expressed his support for the efforts undertaken by Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati to avoid the risk of crisis and maintain security and stability in the country. Ki-moon, who is visiting Beijing, expressed in a telephone conversation with Mikati today his concern over the on going events in Syria. He pointed to the responsibility of the Syrian government for the shooting inside Lebanese territory, expressing his sorrow for the Lebanese victims who died because of it.
