Britain voiced deep concern tonight at the escalating violence in Gaza and southern Israel. UK Minister for the Middle East at the Foreign Office Alistair Burt urged all parties to exercise restraint and prevent civilian casualties and loss of life. In a terse statement Burt, said: \"I am deeply concerned about this week\'s escalation of violence in Gaza and southern Israel\".
