The British Foreign Secretary William Hague will meet his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on Thursday in Kabul to discuss the situation in Syria. A British Foreign Ministry spokesman said both will meet on the sidelines of a regional conference on Afghanistan in Kabul to discuss activating the plan Kofi Annan, envoy the United Nations and the Arab League. He added that Hague stressed in a press conference in Kabul earlier in the day that it is in the interest of Russia now to use its influence with the Syrian government for the full implementation of the Annan plan.
