Indian authorities on Wednesday imposed a curfew in parts of Kashmir to stop fresh anti-India demonstrations following the death of three people from Indian army gunfire and a general strike called by separatists in protest, ABC News reported.
Shops and schools were closed and streets deserted as government forces carrying automatic rifles patrolled the curfew-bound areas of Srinagar, Handwara and neighborhoods.
Rebel groups have been fighting since 1989 for independence from India or the Indian portion's merger with Pakistan.
