Egyptian and Greek rescue teams have moved to the rescue of a group of illegal migrants who were on a boat that capsized earlier on Friday, said Military Spokesman Mohamed Samir.

At 8:30 a.m., the boat issued a maritime distress at 265 km from Salloum after it had been hit by strong waves.

A statement will be issued later today to announce details of the incident and efforts exerted to rescue the boat.
