The Cairo-based Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs gifted a collection of English-written Islamic books to the Islamic associations in New Zealand over the tolerance of the Islamic religion.

The books, handed by Egyptian Ambassador to New Zealand Tarek el Wasimi to head of the Islamic associations in New Zealand Hazem Arfa, will be distributed to Islamic centers and mosques in the country.

The diplomat promised to convey Islamic centers' desire to get more books on the tolerance of Islam and the role of women in Islam.

Wasimi reiterated Egypt's keenness on meeting the needs of Islamic centers and mosques round the world and supplying them with needed books to explain tolerance of Islam and refute any mistaken idea on the Islamic religion.
