Egyptian ambassador in Tokyo Ismail Khairat said the embassy is keeping an eye on the safety of the Egyptian community in Fukushima prefecture after an earthquake.

A 7.4-magnitude earthquake hit off the country’s east coast. No fatalities or property damage were reported among Egyptians.

The ambassador ordered forming an operation room to monitor all-out situation and safety of Egyptians in the affected prefecture and its suburbs.
