The European Union decided Tuesday to prolong the EU\'s rule of law mission in Kosovo by two more years. A budget of 111 million euro has been allocated to the prolongation of the mission,which will now run until 14 June 2014, noted an EU statement. The aim of EULEX Kosovo is to assist and support the Kosovo authorities in the rule of law area, specifically in the police, judiciary and customs areas. At the moment, the mission employs around 1700 international police officers, judges, prosecutors and customs officials and approximately 1100 local staff across Kosovo.
