Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has described the situation at Idomeni camp, near Greece-Macedonia border, as shame on the European civilization.

Speaking at a press conference Saturday with the leader of the French Communist Party Pierre Laurent and other European leftist MPs, he added that Greece has secured 50,000 shelters to receive refugees.

Shelters for 10,000 refugees will be built every week, Tsipras noted.
