Abu Dhabi Executive Council

The Committee for Infrastructure and Environment of Abu Dhabi Executive Council has visited the Louvre Abu Dhabi construction site where it was welcomed by Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, Sufian Al Marzooqi, Chief Executive Officer of the Tourism Development and Investment Company, and architect Jean Nouvel.

The committee members included Falah Mohamed Al Ahbabi, Faris Obaid Al Dhaheri, Ahmed Mohamed Al Sharif, Mubarak Obaid Al Dhaheri, and Khalid Mohamed Hashim. They were briefed on the latest development works inside the museum as well as the external infrastructure. Once completed, the museum will contribute to growth of the tourism sector in the emirate and achieving one of Abu Dhabi Plan's objectives, to become a unique and attractive tourist destination.

Louvre Abu Dhabi is one of the world's leading tourism projects, uniquely designed with a dome which is 180 meters wide and weighs 7,000 tons, and is inspired by interlaced palm leaves that allows sunlight through its "rain of light". The museum also features 30,000 square metres of natural stone on its external walls.
