Egyptian Interior Minister Magdi Abdel Ghaffar agreed on Sunday to send a mission to London to issue national ID cards for Egyptians living there.

The mission, comprising police officers and Civil Status Department staffers, will travel to the British capital Wednesday.

They will remain there for a week.

The move comes as part of the Interior Ministry's keenness to communicate with the Egyptian communities abroad to facilitate the issuing of ID cards and spare them the effort and expenses of coming to Egypt for that purpose.
